Permanent Exhibit

Our permanent gallery showcases many aspects of Yup’ik/Cup’ik and Athabascan cultures—from clothes for daily living, like waterproof seal-gut parkas and fish-skin boots—to dance masks and regalia, hunting and fishing tools, story knives, children’s toys and games, and more.

The North Exhibit Hall houses a varied collection of traditional fur, feather, and skin coats from throughout the region. Hunting and fishing tools, and traditional masks are displayed throughout the space.

The Central Exhibit Hall houses dancing drums, fans, and regalia. Examples of traditional fish traps and kayaks are also displayed.

The South Exhibit Hall contains the Museum’s temporary exhibits.

Come visit the gallery, sign our guest book, and see some of the finest examples of traditional Yup’ik clothing, tools, and dance regalia on display.
