AVCP










The Organization

The Association of Village Council Presidents provides services to the 56 tribes in western Alaska.  Alaska was divided into 12 regions over thirty years ago when the federal government settled land claims. 

AVCP is one of 12 regional Native non-profit organizations established by the federal government in 1964.  AVCP has grown to become a diverse social service agency and is run by a Board of Directors composed of all 56 Village Council Presidents.

AVCP Executive Board

The Executive Board serves as policy-makers and designates operations authority to the President of the Association of Village Council Presidents. 

The Association of Village Council Presidents Executive Board is the governing body of the Yupiit Piciryarait Museum.
